Forty Sacred Hadith Qudsi – Hadith 37

Hadith 37 Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

قَالَ اللَّهُ كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ إِلاَّ الصِّيَامَ فَإِنَّهُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ‏ وَالصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ وَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ صَوْمِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلاَ يَرْفُثْ وَلاَ يَصْخَبْ فَإِنْ سَابَّهُ أَحَدٌ أَوْ قَاتَلَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي امْرُؤٌ صَائِمٌ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ يَفْرَحُهُمَا إِذَا أَفْطَرَ فَرِحَ وَإِذَا لَقِيَ رَبَّهُ فَرِحَ بِصَوْمِهِ

Allah Almighty said, ‘Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except for fasting. It is for Me and I will reward it.’ Fasting is a shield, so when one of you fasts, he may not be obscene or boisterous. If someone insults him or fights him, let him say: Indeed, I am fasting. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the breath coming from the mouth of a fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the scent of musk. The fasting person has two moments of relief he enjoys: when he breaks his fast he is joyful, and when he meets his Lord he is joyful for his fasting. 🇧🇦[BS] Allah je rekao: Svaki čin sina Adamovog je za njega, osim posta, jer je post za mene i ja ću ga nagraditi. Post je zaštita. Kada je jedan od vas na postu, neka ne bude neprikladan niti bučan. Ako ga neko psuje ili sa njim se bije, neka kaže: 'Ja sam postnik.' Onom čija je duša u ruci Muhammadovoj, miris usta posnika je draži Allahu od mirisa mošusa. Za posnika postoje dvije radosti koje ga raduju: raduje se kada prekine post i raduje se kada se susretne sa svojim Gospodarom zbog njegovog posta.

🇺🇸[EN] Allah said: Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting, for it is for Me and I will reward it. Fasting is a shield. When one of you is fasting, let him not be obscene or quarrelsome. If someone curses him or fights him, let him say: 'I am a fasting person.' By Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the odor of the mouth of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. For the fasting person there are two joys that make him joyful: he rejoices when he breaks his fast and he rejoices when he meets his Lord because of his fasting.
