Forty Sacred Hadith Qudsi – Hadith 10

Hadith 10 Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ أَرْسَلَ جِبْرِيلَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ انْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا قَالَ فَجَاءَهَا وَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى مَا أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا قَالَ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَوَعِزَّتِكَ لَا يَسْمَعُ بِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا دَخَلَهَا فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَحُفَّتْ بِالْمَكَارِهِ فَقَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهَا فَانْظُرْ إِلَى مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا قَالَ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهَا فَإِذَا هِيَ قَدْ حُفَّتْ بِالْمَكَارِهِ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ وَعِزَّتِكَ لَقَدْ خِفْتُ أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَهَا أَحَدٌ قَالَ اذْهَبْ إِلَى النَّارِ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لِأَهْلِهَا فِيهَا فَإِذَا هِيَ يَرْكَبُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ وَعِزَّتِكَ لَا يَسْمَعُ بِهَا أَحَدٌ فَيَدْخُلَهَا فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَحُفَّتْ بِالشَّهَوَاتِ فَقَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهَا فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ وَعِزَّتِكَ لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ لَا يَنْجُوَ مِنْهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا دَخَلَهَا

[EN] When Allah created Paradise and Hell, He sent Gabriel to Paradise and said: ‘Look at it and at what I have prepared for its inhabitants in it.’ He said: So he came to it and looked at it and at what Allah had prepared for its inhabitants in it. He said: So he returned to Him. He said: By Your might, no one hears of it except that he enters it. So He commanded concerning it and it was surrounded with hardships. He said: Return to it and look at what I have prepared for its inhabitants in it. He said: So he returned to it and behold, it had been surrounded with hardships. He returned to Him and said: By Your might, I have feared that no one will enter it. He said: Go to Hell and look at it and at what I have prepared for its inhabitants in it. And behold, some of it is piled upon some of it. He returned to Him and said: By Your might, no one hears of it except that he enters it. So He commanded concerning it and it was surrounded with desires. He said: Return to it. He returned to it and said: By Your might, I have feared that no one will escape from it except that he enters it.

[BS] Kada je Allah stvorio Raj i Pakao, poslao je Gabriela u Raj i rekao: ‘Pogledaj ga i ono što sam za njegovu ljude pripremio u njega.’ Rekao je: Tako je došao do njega i pogledao ga i ono što je Allah za njegove ljude pripremio u njega. Rekao je: Tako se vratio Njemu. Rekao je: Uz Tvoju moć, nijedan čovjek to ne čuje osim što uđe u njega. Tako je naredao njemu i bio je opkoljèn sa kaznama. Rekao je: Vrati se u njega i pogledaj ono što sam za njegove ljude pripremio u njega. Rekao je: Tako se vratio u njega i evo, bio je opkoljèn sa kaznama. Vratio se Njemu i rekao je: Uz Tvoju moć, bojao sam se da niko neće ući u njega. Rekao je: Idi u Pakao i pogledaj ga i ono što sam za njegove ljude pripremio u njega. I evo, jedan dio je naskupljen na drugi. Vratio se Njemu i rekao je: Uz Tvoju moć, niko ne čuje za njega osim što uđe u njega. Tako je naredao njemu i bio je opkoljèn sa željama. Rekao je: Vrati se u njega. Vratio se u njega i rekao je: Uz Tvoju moć, bojao sam se da niko neće pobjeći iz njega osim što uđe u njega.

When Allah created Paradise and Hellfire, He sent Gabriel to Paradise saying: Behold it and what I have prepared therein for its people. Gabriel came and looked at it and what Allah had prepared therein for its people, then he returned to Allah and he said: By Your might, no one will hear of it but that he will enter it. Allah ordered that it be surrounded by adversity and He said: Return to it and behold what I have prepared therein for its people. Gabriel returned and found that it was surrounded by hardship, then he returned to Allah and he said: By Your might, I fear that no one will enter it. Allah said: Go to the Hellfire and behold it and what I have prepared therein for its people. Gabriel found that it was in layers, one above another, then he returned to Allah and he said: By Your might, no one who hears of it will enter it. Allah ordered that it be surrounded by desires and He said: Return to it. Gabriel returned and he said: By Your might, I fear that no one will escape it. Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2560, Grade: Sahih
